Is an LEI from LEI24 the same as one from another provider?
Yes. Every LEI follows the ISO 17442 standard and is published in the same global LEI database. Banks, brokers and regulators treat it exactly the same, whichever authorised provider you use.
Who issues my LEI?
LEI24 operates as a Registration Agent working with Nasdaq CSD, an accredited issuer (Local Operating Unit) in the Global LEI System.
How long is an LEI valid?
The code itself never changes, but its data must be renewed every year. If it is not renewed, the LEI becomes “lapsed” and may no longer be accepted for trading or reporting. A 3- or 5-year plan keeps your LEI active for the whole period.
Can I transfer my existing LEI to LEI24?
Yes. Transferring an LEI changes who manages it, not the code itself. You keep the same LEI and benefit from LEI24 pricing from then on.
What do I need to apply?
Usually just your company’s registration number and details of any parent companies. If you apply on someone else’s behalf, we may ask for a signed letter of authorisation. Learn more about the LEI →
